I still go to Guarino's. I few years ago I was going a few times a week. Their chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins are still the best around. Their service is very good too. Parking is very easy since the hospital closed. A must visit. Anytime I've been there, all the young kids look very happy. Anyone who posts a review on working conditions, should actually work at the place. Guarino's in my humble opinion is the best bakery in the area. I love Bova in the north end, the bread in each place are both very good. Guarino has a wider selection, Bova's main business is to restaurants.

The quality of the food her is as always is unbelievable! I got a couple of ricotta filled cannoli and a loaf of scali bread. The cannoli shells were perfectly crisp, lightly sweet and the ricotta filling is sweet and rich, we got them both finished with chocolate chips. And the scali bread is so soft with a slightly crispy crust and lightly toasted sesame seeds. I also ordered ahead over the phone. My order was ready when I got there. It always smells so yummy in this place, I was almost tempted to buy some of their Italian cookies, but I didn't!

The aroma when you enter Guarino's makes you feel like you're in a North End bakery. The authentic Italian pastry, shorter lines with great service, and free parking make you wonder why you drive to Boston for pastry so often. Try the delicious sweet creamy-filled Zeppole (St. Joseph's Day, March 19th, specialty). The apple dumpling is the best! Cookies, cakes, pastry, bread, you can't go wrong whatever you get.

I ordered a cheesecake ahead to pickup on a Saturday morning. Calling it in was easy, they quickly took the order over the phone. When I went to pick it up the girl working behind the counter spent over 5 minutes figuring out what box the cheesecake fit best in. I really don't understand why it took that long. Otherwise service was good and the cheesecake was delicious. I also got some cannolis and danish for the event I was going to and those were all eaten quickly.

Well, Anytime I am in Norwood area in am. The blueberry muffins are outstanding and full of fresh blueberries... no fake ones here. These are as close to my mother's where we picked gallons of fresh blueberries and she loaded 4-5 times the normal blueberries. These also close to the famous Jordan marsh muffins of historic past. Anyway... 3-4 times I went here all blueberry muffins sold out... now I learned to get there early and buy multiple days worth. I gave one to an Aunt and get response was best blueberry muffin and admitted she thought my grandmother's blueberry muffins were the best until this one. The new Le Baguette Caribbean bakery down street is a contender now as blueberry muffin there outstanding as well and I need a taste test comparison to see which.... Croissants at Ke Baguette best I've tasted since in Germany.

The lobster tail is insane!! The whipped ricotta filling is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about it. I would eat the filling by the spoonful. I didn't like the sfogliatelle as much because I am not a huge fan of orange peel. However everything looked amazing and the ladies at the counter were so kind and helpful!
